Great success of the First European Forum of Logistic Clusters

256 participants have attended this first edition of the European Forum of Logistic Clusters, whose goal is 
to share knowledge and to stimulate the collaboration between the logistic clusters in Europe

The first European Forum of Logistic clusters, which has taken place in Brussels on 14th and
15th October, has been the final event for three European projects: SoCool@EU, LOG4GREEN and 
LOG2020, all of them cofinanced by the 7th Framework Programme.

The principal aim of this international event has been to identify new opportunities of collaboration 
between the European regions that foster the innovation and development in order to contribute to 
the economic growth in the logistic sector.

The first day has been focused on giving a general vision of the logistic clusters, as well as on 
identifying his characteristics and on exposing the problems that may affect them.

As Keir Fitch, the Deputy Head of Cabinet at European Commission, has said:

"Without logistics there would not exist the European market"

This declaration was also endorsed by Jakob Stoumann, The Head of department - Regional 
development, innovation, clustering and competence - at Oxford Research, who assured that

"The clusters are one of the most suitable tools to face the challenges of the logistic sector".

Divided in several parallel meetings led by relevant professionals of the sector, the second day 
of the forum has focused on analyzing these problems that may affect the logistic clusters and 
discussing some possible solutions.

Additionally, the event has included one poster session, a regional exhibition and individual 
meetings with the goal of stimulating the collaboration between the participants.
